The Lady Speaks

Jenn’s Sunday Sermon

Counting today, there are 14 days left in the year. Today’s sermon isn’t a sermon really. Just a call to everyone to pray or meditate on peace each day until we reach the New Year. Each day, I’ll be posting a peace prayer from one of the various religions/belief systems around the world. Feel free to use them, or one of your own.

Today’s prayer is from the Taoist belief:

If there is to be peace in the world,
There must be peace in the nations.
If there is to be peace in the nations,
There must be peace in the cities.
If there is to be peace in the cities,
There must be peace between neighbors.
If there is to be peace between neighbors,
There must be peace in the home.
If there is to be peace in the home,
There must be peace in the heart.

— Lao Tse

This prayer comes from Prayers for Peace.
