No, but actually I had dinner with “mystery man” last Friday night! Nate introduced us because we only live 20 miles away. He’s coming to my next Draft Gore Meetup in Lawrence, KS.

He gave us some great background stories!

I just saw the issue about the Katy Islamic mosque on the news and was searching websites when I found your blog. I’m from north of Houston and we’ve had a mosque in our town for a long time.
I live in suburban sprawl- we have tons of churches and even a Jewish temple. Probably some of the most beautiful religious sites are: the mosque, the temple, and the Mormon cathedral. It’s pretty silly that the townspeople in Katy are embarrassing themselves.

I think situations like these show who keeps their honor and humbleness and who doesn’t.

I’ve always loved that prayer. Gramma was my first teacher when it came to Christianity – use what you like and what feels real, and ignore the “bullpucky”.

Of course, my favorite of her sayings is: “Sitting in church doesn’t make me a Christian anymore than sitting in a garage makes me an automobile.”
