Friday Anti-War Song
We Want Peace On Earth — Robert Alan
We're tired of the endless corporate greed
We want a world where all have all they need
We're tired of this culture of violence, tired of this culture of hate
Need a culture of peace before it's just too late
We Want Peace on Earth
We Want Peace on Earth
We Want Peace on Earth
We want Peace on Earth!
We're tired of this global economy
Where profits before people is the key
We'd rather have a true democracy
That's fair and just for all humanity
We Want Peace on Earth
We Want Peace on Earth
We Want Peace on Earth
We want Peace on Earth!
Our government is never what it seems
Making secret deals behind the scenes
Selling favors, guns and oil deeds
It's supposed to serve its governed people's needs!
We Want Peace on Earth
We Want Peace on Earth
We Want Peace on Earth
We want Peace on Earth! We Want Peace on Earth
We Want Peace on Earth
We Want Peace on Earth
We want Peace on Earth!

Interesting post. The one silver lining to the Bush administration is, perhaps, a lot of great new music.
One of my personal favorites is a singer-songwriter called Josh Ritter. His song called “Girl in the War” isnt as a classic protest song in the way that the Robert Alan song above is but it lacks no of its conviction. You should check out the cd “The Animal Years” online and see for yourself. Enjoy!

Thanks for the link Matt! I checked it out and was really impressed! I think I may use ‘Girl in the War’ for this coming Friday’s (5/19) song!
There’s a guy, Chris Chandler, who has some awesome albums. He and David Roe do this awesome video/spoken word/music…thing. I can’t think of the right word to describe it, but it’s fantastic! One of my favorites is ‘Something’s in the Air/But It’s Not on the Airwaves”. You can check his stuff out at http://www.chrischandler.org
